The Arena Football League’s five game 2024 postseason will now air via CBS Sports Network, the same network contracted to air the Indoor Football League championship game. The AFL has yet to officially disclose its new television partner but advance listings from Zap2it for first round games indicate that partner to be CBSSN.
In preparation for the telecasts, the Arena Football League announced earlier this week that it had canceled all final week games involving postseason teams, leaving the already eliminated Wichita & Washington to play the sole finale. The Billings Outlaws will go into the playoffs as the #1 seed with the Albany Firebirds as the #2 seed.
The new television deal comes weeks after the Arena Football League’s original deal for 2024 with NFL Network collapsed after a wave of league financial and mismanagement issues. The AFL’s management structure has since been reorganized with commissioner Lee Hutton ousted in favor of new acting commissioner Jeff Fisher.
