MARYLAND: Garrett.
VIRGINIA: Highland, Blue Ridge.
WEST VIRGINIA: Grant, Pendleton.

…COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING…
WHAT…Very cold wind chills between 10 to 20 degrees below zero expected.
WHERE…In Maryland, Garrett County. In Virginia, Western Highland and Eastern Highland Counties, and Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Central Virginia Blue Ridge. In West Virginia, Western Grant, Eastern Grant, Western Pendleton and Eastern Pendleton Counties.
WHEN…Until 10 AM EST this morning.
IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Very cold air temperatures between zero degrees and 10 degrees below zero expected.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
