DC Power FC announced as name of new USL Super League team

DC Power Football Club (aka DC Power FC) has been officially announced as the new name of D.C.’s expansion franchise in the new USL Super League women’s soccer league. The name was officially announced via the team’s social media outlets Monday, the last of eight initial USLS teams to be named.

DC Power FC will play its home games at Audi Field in Washington, DC, sharing the facility with D.C. United (a partner of the Power), the Washington Spirit NWSL women’s soccer team and UFL footballs D.C. Defenders. This will make for a very crowded spring slate at Audi as USLS will utilize a traditional fall to spring soccer schedule.

Primary founding owners for the team include Janice “Jan” Adams, Devin Talbott, and Jordan Stuart with celebrity owners Crystal Renee Hayslett, Josiah Gray, Hendrix Lapierre & Angel Reese added into the ownership group. Utah Royals assistant Frédéric Brillant will serve as the team’s first head coach.‍
