A Flash Flood Warning is in effect Sunday, August 18 to 12:45 am Monday, August 19, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: northeastern Howard, southwestern Baltimore, Baltimore City.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

Northeastern Howard County in central Maryland…
Southwestern Baltimore County in northern Maryland…
Baltimore City in northern Maryland…

* Until 1245 AM EDT.

* At 948 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
