A Flood Watch is now in effect to 2 pm Saturday, July 13, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Cecil.

…FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…A portion of northeast Maryland, including the following county, Cecil.

* WHEN…Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Another round of rain is likely this morning which could produce a quick one to two inches of rain resulting in areas of flash flooding.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…Portions of central Delaware, including the following area, Kent and northeast Maryland, including the following areas, Caroline, Kent MD, Queen Annes and Talbot.

* WHEN…Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Widespread showers and thunderstorms combined with tropical moisture will result in areas of heavy rainfall across the watch area today. Rainfall rates may exceed 1 to 2 inches per hour. Forecast rainfall amounts range from about 1 to 2 inches, however, localized amounts near 3 inches are possible.
