A Flood Watch remains in effect to 11 pm Tuesday, July 23, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
MARYLAND: Prince George’s, Charles.
VIRGINIA: Orange, Culpeper, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, southern Fauquier, central/southeast Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park.

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…Portions of DC, including the following , District of Columbia, Maryland, including the following areas, Charles and Prince Georges, and Virginia, including the following areas, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Central and Southeast Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Culpeper, Fairfax, King George, Orange, Southern Fauquier, Spotsylvania and Stafford.

* WHEN…Until 11 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Thunderstorms this evening could have intense rain rates exceeding 2 inches per hour. If locally repetitive or prolonged thunderstorms develop, flash flooding could occur in flood prone urban and suburban areas.
