A Flood Watch remains in effect from 3 pm to 10 pm Saturday, August 3, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
MARYLAND: southern Baltimore, Baltimore City, Cecil, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, central/southeast Montgomery, central/southeast Howard, southeast Harford.
VIRGINIA: Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria.

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…Portions of DC, including the following , District of Columbia, Maryland, including the following areas, Anne Arundel, Cecil, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast Montgomery, Prince Georges, Southeast Harford and Southern Baltimore, and northern Virginia, including the following areas, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria and Fairfax.

* WHEN…Until 10 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible from mid afternoon through late evening. Given the humid environment, thunderstorms may be capable of producing 2 inches of rain in an hour, with isolated localized totals of around 5 inches possible in areas where multiple thunderstorms occur.
