A Frost Advisory remains in effect to 9 am Thursday, October 10, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Garrett, western Allegany.
VIRGINIA: Augusta, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Page, Highland.
WEST VIRGINIA: Hampshire, Hardy, Grant, Mineral, Pendleton.

…FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING…

* WHAT…For the Frost Advisory, temperatures as low as 33 will result in frost formation. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 possible.

* WHERE…Portions of western Maryland, northwest and western Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.

* WHEN…For the Frost Advisory, until 9 AM EDT this morning. For the Freeze Watch, from late tonight through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
