The Virginia Tech Hokies fell one spot to 19th in the women’s college soccer coaches poll after its bye week while the Georgetown Hoyas reentered the poll in 23rd place after falling out of the poll the previous week and the Virginia Cavaliers dropped one spot out of that 23rd position into 24th place.
Georgetown was dominant in Big East play last week to reenter the poll, defeating Providence 1-0 on the road last Thursday before thrashing Marquette 4-0 at home on Sunday. Virginia had only one game on the week and not a particularly good one, a 4-0 rout loss to then #22 Florida State on the road.
Virginia Tech gets back into action this week Thursday at NC State followed by a Sunday outing at #7 ranked Notre Dame to wrap its road schedule. Georgetown wraps its road schedule as well this week with a Thursday outing at Villanova while Virginia will conclude its home schedule Friday against Clemson.
