The Georgetown Hoyas football team received votes in the FCS level coaches poll for the first time this season after decisive opening week one and two wins. Georgetown garnered two voting points for an unofficial tie for 46th place. The Hoyas are the only Patriot League squad yet to lose a game.
Georgetown’s week two effort, a come from behind 31-10 rout of Marist, saw the Hoyas dominate play in the second half after being tied 10-10 at the halftime break. The Hoyas earlier thrashed Davidson 46-24 in another game that hinged on a one sided second half performance with a 21-0 Georgetown run in the third quarter.
In addition to Georgetown, regional teams Richmond (unofficial 28th place) and Delaware State (tie for unofficial 37th place) also gained support in the FCS coaches poll that led off with the top five lineup of South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Montana State, Villanova and Idaho.
