The Georgetown Hoyas climbed two spots to 14th in the latest men’s college soccer coaches poll this week while Virginia Tech reached closer to being ranked in an unofficial 28th place. Additionally, George Mason received its first poll vote to clock in at an unofficial 39th place.
Georgetown defeated UNC Greensboro earlier in the week 1-0 for its second win of the season followed by a home 0-0 Labor Day draw vs FIU. The Virginia Tech Hokies meanwhile defeated UNC Asheville 2-0 early last week before proceeding to their own Labor Day draw with a 2-2 result at now #16 ranked Kentucky.
The George Mason Patriots defeated Delaware 2-0 last week to remain undefeated at 2-0 on the young season and earn polling consideration for the first time. James Madison dropped off of ballots though after a 2-2 home draw vs NC State.
