An Ice Storm Warning remains in effect to 12 pm Thursday, February 6, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Garrett, Washington, Allegany.
VIRGINIA: Frederick, Clarke.
WEST VIRGINIA: Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson, Mineral.

…ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY…

WHAT…Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations around a light glaze.

WHERE…Portions of north central and western Maryland, northwest Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.

WHEN…Until noon EST today.

IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Using non-approved heating devices in your home can lead to fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Temperatures will warm later this morning with precipitation transitioning to rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your electric company. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.
