The James Madison Dukes climbed up two places to 8th in this week’s men’s college soccer coaches poll while the Maryland Terrapins rose three places to 9th and the George Mason Patriots shot up seven places to 13th. The Georgetown Hoyas also officially entered the poll in 19th while Virginia Tech fell five spots to 24th.
James Madison rose two spots off a 2-2 draw at then #5 ranked Marshall last Friday with the Dukes next at Virginia on Tuesday before returning to Sun Belt play against Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Maryland achieved its best poll ranking since 2021 off a home 1-1 draw against Penn State and a home 2-1 win against Michigan State. The Terps will next be at Washington on Friday.
The George Mason Patriots defeated La Salle 2-1 on the road last week with home games upcoming against Loyola Chicago & Duquesne. Georgetown entered the poll off a 3-0 triumph last Friday hosting Providence while Virginia Tech continued slipping, following up a 4-0 home win against Queens with a 2-1 road loss at archrival Virginia.
