The Navy Midshipmen moved up one place to 24th this week in the Associated Press college football media poll off their dominant win this week while officially being ranked in the USA Today college football coaches poll for the first time this season, also coming in 24th place. The Mids became bowl eligible at 6-0 with their win.
Navy obliterated American conference opponent Charlotte at home last Saturday, racing out to a 38-3 late second quarter lead en route to a 51-17 rolling of the 49ers. The Midshipmen will next play the #12 AP ranked Notre Dame in their annual contest, this edition to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey before an ABC network audience.
While Navy again excelled in action, James Madison faltered with the Dukes falling at Sun Belt rival Georgia Southern 28-14 to lose voting support in the polls just a week after receiving votes. James Madison will look to recover hosting Southern Miss while Maryland off its upset win vs USC will be at Minnesota.
