MARYLAND: Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Cecil, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, central/eastern Allegany, Montgomery, Howard, Harford.
VIRGINIA: Frederick, Warren, Clarke, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, northern Fauquier, Loudoun, northwest Prince William.
WEST VIRGINIA: Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson, eastern Mineral.

* TIMING…Until 6 PM EST this evening.
* WINDS…West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 20 percent.
* IMPACTS…The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires.
* FUEL MOISTURE…Less than 10 percent.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Red Flag Warning remains in effect from 8 am to 6 pm Friday, November 8, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.
MARYLAND: Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline.

* AFFECTED AREA…Kent MD, Queen Annes, Talbot and Caroline.
* TIMING…From 8 AM this morning to 6 PM EST this evening.
* WINDS…Northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 29 percent.
* IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.
