MARYLAND: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline.
VIRGINIA: Arlington, Alexandria, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Loudoun, Manassas, Manassas Park, King George, Orange, Prince William, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania, Stafford.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
District Of Columbia
Central and Eastern Maryland
Northern Virginia
Coastal Waters
* Effective this Wednesday night from 850 PM until Midnight EDT.
* Primary threats include…
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible
SUMMARY…A broken linear cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms will likely continue east across northern Virginia and adjacent portions of Maryland through the late evening. Strong to locally severe gusts (50-60 mph) capable of wind damage will be possible with the stronger thunderstorms and outflow surges as this activity moves east.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south of Martinsburg WV to 45 miles east of Baltimore MD. For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU1).

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.
