The Virginia Tech Hokies skyrocketed upward seven places to 12th in the latest women’s college soccer coaches poll this week off an upset top 10 win while the Georgetown Hoyas also rose up this week, in their case three spots to 20th. The Virginia Cavaliers fell out of the official top 25 though despite winning, now at an unofficial tie for 26th.
Virginia Tech followed up a scoreless 0-0 tie last Thursday at NC State with a dominant 2-0 win at then #7 Notre Dame on Sunday to leap upward at a 11-3-3 record. Georgetown continued its winning ways with a 3-0 rout at Villanova on Thursday while Virginia edged out Clemson at home 1-0 Friday.
Virginia Tech and Virginia close out regular season play this Thursday with a game against each other at Virginia Tech while Georgetown will wrap its regular season up earlier Thursday afternoon hosting Big East rival Xavier.
