The undefeated Virginia Cavaliers are up four places to 4th place in the new women’s college soccer coaches poll released today while Virginia Tech reenters the poll at 21st and Georgetown remains steady in the poll this week in 23rd place.
Virginia is coming off another successful week in women’s soccer competition after dominating the James Madison Dukes 3-0 last Sunday to go 5-0 on the season. The Cavaliers are now behind only new #1 Stanford, #2 North Carolina & #3 Florida State in the poll, all fellow ACC schools.
The Virginia Tech Hokies returned to the rankings this week after defeating Loyola Maryland 1-0 in a lightning shortened game followed by a 2-0 win over High Point. The Georgetown Hoyas dominated Lafayette 6-0 to remain level in the rankings. Both Virginia Tech & Georgetown remain unbeaten with one tie each on their records.
