Virginia women’s soccer drops to 19th in coaches poll

The Virginia Cavaliers fell off in the women’s college soccer coaches poll for the second consecutive week week, this time dropping five spots to the 19th position. Georgetown had better fortune in receiving votes, not enough to be officially ranked but coming in again just outside the top 25 in an unofficial 27th place.

Virginia struggled for the second week running to establish itself in ACC conference play this past week, losing its only game last Sunday against then #16 ranked Notre Dame 1-0 at home. Georgetown had a better run of play opening in-conference Big East competition with a 1-0 home win against Creighton.

The Virginia Tech Hokies though lost out on voting support altogether, receding no votes in the coaches poll this week after registering a 3-1 loss last Sunday at Boston College to drop to 7-3-1 on the women’s soccer season.
