The Washington Spirit have officially announced a radio deal with ESPN 630 (WSBN) for a package of thirteen games to air on the Cumulus owned station this season. The arrangement marks the first deal ever in Spirit soccer franchise history for its games to air via local terrestrial radio in the Washington, DC area.
Washington Commanders radio play-by-play announcer Bram Weinstein will serve in the same role for Spirit broadcasts with former Spirit player Gaby Vincent as the color commentator and former Spirit TV/streaming commentator Michael Minnich providing additional commentary and serving as the alternate to Weinstein and Vincent.
The Spirit/630 deal also includes the introduction of a Spirit-based podcast Spirit Spotlight dropping every Friday night along with a post-game show on the same podcast channel. Any additional game broadcasts beyond the currently contracted thirteen games along with possible postseason broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
