A Wind Advisory remains in effect to 11 am Friday, August 9, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

VIRGINIA: Blue Ridge.

…WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT THIS MORNING…

* WHAT…South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* WHERE…Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Central Virginia Blue Ridge.

* WHEN…Until 11 AM EDT this morning.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The combination of saturated ground and gusty winds will lead to scattered to numerous downed trees and power lines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
