A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect to 4 am Thursday, January 2, 2025 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Garrett.
WEST VIRGINIA: western Grant, western Pendleton.

…WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING…

  • WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning, brief heavy snow remains possible. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
  • WHERE…In Maryland, Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.
  • WHEN…For the Winter Storm Warning, until 4 AM EST early this morning. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Friday morning through Saturday morning.
  • IMPACTS…For tonight: some roads may remain slick and hazardous and visibility may be reduced below one mile at times in snow showers. For Friday morning through Saturday morning: roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.
