A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 1 am Wednesday, January 1 to 4 am Thursday, January 2, 2025 including the following jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: Garrett.
WEST VIRGINIA: western Grant, western Pendleton.

…WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT…

WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations around 4 to 8 inches possible. West to northwest winds could gust as high as 50 mph.

WHERE…In Maryland, Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

WHEN…From late Tuesday night through late Wednesday night.

IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact holiday travel. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Rain will change to snow late Tuesday night above 3,000 feet and by early Wednesday morning for the rest of the area. Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour are possible at times through Wednesday evening.
