A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect to 6 pm Friday, November 22, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: western Allegany.
WEST VIRGINIA: western Mineral.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Snow. Total snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE…In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany County. In West Virginia, Western Mineral County.

* WHEN…Until 6 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
