A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect to 7 am Monday, December 16, 2024 for the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: central/eastern Allegany.
WEST VIRGINIA: Hampshire, Hardy, eastern Grant, eastern Mineral.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THIS MORNING…

* WHAT…Additional light freezing rain and drizzle will produce ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE…In Maryland, Central and Eastern Allegany County. In West Virginia, Eastern Grant, Eastern Mineral, Hampshire, and Hardy Counties.

* WHEN…Until 7 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
