Women’s soccer rankings: Georgetown rises, VT reenters

 
The Georgetown Hoyas are up two spots this week to 18th in the women’s college soccer coaches poll, the Virginia Tech Hokies officially reenter the poll in the 21st spot while the Virginia Cavaliers continue to hold the last official placement of the poll, again coming in at 25th place.

Georgetown tied Butler on the road last Thursday 1-1 before going on to a dominant 3-0 home win against rival St. John’s last Sunday to improve its ranking. The Hoyas will continue Big East conference play this week, forgoing a midweek game this time while preparing for a Sunday matchup at DePaul.

Virginia Tech tied Miami FL 0-0 on the road last Thursday before upsetting then #6 Florida State at home 3-2 on Sunday to return to being ranked. The Hokies will next host new ACC school SMU on Thursday. Virginia took a 3-1 loss at new #1 Duke last Thursday. UVA will next host NC State on Thursday and SMU as well on Sunday.
