WWE announced today that it would hold a live WWE NXT taping Wednesday, November 6 at the 2300 Arena (fka the ECW Arena) in Philadelphia, PA. The event will air live on The CW network and will again place NXT in direct conflict with the AEW’s flagship Dynamite program for viewers that week.
WWE was forced to alter plans for NXT the first full week of November, cancelling the previously scheduled Tuesday taping, due to The CW’s intention to air election coverage that night. As previously noted, TV Button Pusher reported that The CW will simulcast presidential election coverage on the night of Tuesday, November 5 from sister network NewsNation.
The move sets up another ratings battle between NXT and Dynamite though one on terms more advantageous to AEW. WWE’s developmental program dominated Dynamite in their most recent Tuesday night conflict but with the next battle being fought instead in Dynamite’s usual timeslot and with NXT ratings now also cooling off, November’s outcome is more in doubt.
