‍A Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from 12 am to 7 am Friday, April 26, 2024 including the following Washington, DC region jurisdictions.

MARYLAND: St. Mary’s.
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

‍ …COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING…

* WHAT…Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level possible in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

* WHERE…Shoreline in St. Marys County.

* WHEN…From midnight EDT tonight through Friday morning, especially around the time of high tide.

* IMPACTS…At 3.0 feet, yards are flooded on Saint George Island, and water will begin covering the road leading to the island, especially if there is wave action.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. The affected high tide will be 4:55 AM at Coltons Point, 4:19 AM at Piney Point, and 3:29 AM at Point Lookout.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.

* WHAT…Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level possible in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

* WHERE…Shoreline in Anne Arundel County.

* WHEN…From 2 AM EDT Friday through Friday morning, especially around the time of high tide.

* IMPACTS…At 2.8 feet, flooding of some of the parking area near Dock Street in Annapolis may occur, with water surrounding the Alex Haley Memorial.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Tides one to one and a half feet above normal. The affected high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy will be at 7:42 AM.
